...able to provoke the U.S. into striking out more forcefully against an enemy hiding in plain sight, they could turn more neutral Iraqis against the occupation. Even the terror attacks have that effect, with numerous reports from reporters on the ground suggesting traumatized Iraqis are often inclined to blame the U.S. for failing to protect them from such attacks - or even for being the cause of such attacks...

...intelligence officer in Iraq told TIME, "It is totally against the psychology of the Iraqi people" to become willing suicide bombers. In Washington's view, the troublemakers are foreign terrorists, either al-Qaeda operatives or returning members of the al-Qaeda--linked Iraqi group Ansar al-Islam. Many Iraqis blame the big hits on an influx of Arab Islamists bent on holy war. Observers say unknown numbers have slipped into Iraq from Iran, Syria, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Two days before the slaying of journalist Chou, Hun Sen singled out the party's radio station for criticism, accusing it of insulting his own party. He warned Funcinpec that it should monitor its media "to avoid any conflicts...

...Jesus. This criticism is not accurate. All four gospels depict the Jews of the time, or at least various Jewish authorities, as responsible for Jesus’ death. The Gospels state that the Romans actually executed Jesus, but that the Jews put them up to it and are to blame for it. Nothing that was said or done by Vatican II contradicts this. What Vatican II did say was that the Jews of later times bear no responsibility or guilt for the actions of some of their ancestors in the first century. Vatican II does not deny Matthew?...
