...Newport. Skipper Harold Stirling Vanderbilt won three more trial races with his America's cup yacht, Enterprise. Weetamoe beat her once but Enterprise made her default, protesting interference. Whirlwind went back to the shipyard to have her mast moved forward a bit, her underbody (hastily finished) scraped and repainted. Whirlwind was hopelessly beaten, Yankee still proved fast off the wind.
