Most of the nationalist and reformist attitudes which separate Alba from the Berkeley student result from the position of the Mexican student in an economically developing nation. Within Mexico City, the educational center of the country, there are close to 200,000 students, of which 90,000 attend UNAM and 60,000 attend IPN.
