These are the findings reported by University of Maine Psychologists Alan Baron and George B. Kish, who measured the effect of early isolation on chicken behavior. Perhaps closer to the real explanation of the market's queasy behavior is that it is traditionally wary of any change, is upset by the possibility of a switch in parties in the White House as the election draws closer.
