...opening inning it looked as if the University was about to throw the game away in one inning, as in other games. Needleman, first up, singled, then Hardell walked Smith, the two coming in on Morrell's three-bagger over Frothingham's head. Then when Lincoln overthrew first Morrell tripped home with the third tally. But after that the Crimson tightened up, Blair throwing out Doherty on an attempted steal to second and Hardell striking out Handy...
