...appointment of Bond does not come as an exact surprise since it was rumored that French would not continue in his position. His team have both had poor seasons, neither one of the elevens winning a game. Bond was backfield coach for the first year teams from 1924 to 1929 under both the Casey and the French regimes. He was head coach of the Brown Freshman team this past season. Along with the appointment of Casey comes the naming of several new assistant coaches, chief among whom is Arthur Sampson, former Tufts head coach and more recently of Columbia University who has been chosen to fill the backfield coaching post left vacant by Casey.
