Britain's adherence to unconditional surrender is based on: 1) the determination to reform and re-educate Germany; 2) the equal determination to avoid any truck whatever with Hitler and his gang; 3) the acceptance of the argument that a war between ideas means a European civil war rather than one between nations. This dissipation is at best a six-month reprieve. To avoid deportation as an undesirable alien, she must now go to Canada or Mexico, wangle an immigration visa from a U.S. consul.
