...disagree with the description "shrinking" for today's Europe, because it betrays a biased viewpoint that suggests success is measured in aspirations to lead the world. Europe - a continental power of nations with a great variety of cultures in a relatively small area - has managed to reduce prejudice derived from exaggerated nationalism and small-state policies on its way to prosperity and peace, and all this after suffering incredible violence and distress through its long history.
