Last week Yahya announced the appointment of a 77-year-old Bengali named Nurul Amin as the Prime Minister-designate for a future civilian government, to which he has promised to turn over some of his military regime's power. Amin figured in last December's elections, which precipitated the whole tragedy. Occasionally, however, such programs give rise to ironic situations. When Arab leaders visit Addis Ababa to attend meetings of the Organization for African Unity, for instance, they are closely guarded by Ethiopian security men who received their training in Israel...

Freddie has an heir. Prince Mutebi, 16, who lives in Britain; but the boy is not likely to become King. Amin has repeatedly said that the kabakaship died with the unfortunate King Freddie...
