...very unfortunate that anything should have occurred which would mar the good temper and spirit of friendly contest which has heretofore characterized the "amateur" ball games. The action of one of the nines in claiming a forfeiture on Monday last, when the game had been postponed by the manager of the university team, who possessed the right to do so, was uncalled for, and cannot be defended.
