...Hitler's favorites was his longtime chauffeur, the late Julius ("Pistol") Schreck, who sometimes concealed as many as seven guns about his person. In 1937 one of Hitler's adjutants told Schreck, who had a swollen jaw from an abscessed tooth, that, looking as he did, he ought not to drive the Führer.
