When the Student Council decided last year to abandon the competitive method of selecting cheer leaders, it did so because dissatisfaction had been voiced in many quarters against the results obtained under the traditional method of having major sports captains lead cheers. Oxford Men Outgoing. Out of New York harbor sailed the 1925 detachment of Rhodes scholars, bound for Oxford. They had attended a farewell dinner at the Harvard club, heard discussed a tentative plan of the Rhodes trustees to abandon the present method of selecting two scholars every three years from each state and substituting a method whereby the quota would be allotted from six to eight districts into which the country would be divided.
