Talk about a wild ride. Kristian Dicke and Richard Geibel, two Germans in their 30s who had been university roommates, launched their business-to-business exchange March 11, 2000. That was the day after the nasdaq peak, the beginning of the yearlong global tech-stock slide. Matchbid - which has since transformed itself into a software firm - has survived...
...didn't get a gift from him but most guys pay some sort of tribute to me. Guys always pay homage. But all the guys who wanted to screw me were old! Like, in their 30s. And none of them was attractive. One guy gave me a Gucci ring but I didn't keep it. Using it was gross! I sold it and spent the money on snowboarding. I bought lots of cute accessories and went on snowboarding trips. I'm actually going on a trip this weekend to Shiga Kogen, with my older brother's friends...
From time to time, I have felt Dick Cheney's pain. We are both about the same age--I am some months older--and we both had our first heart attacks in our mid-30s. "I really wanted to go with a doula, because Barbara has so much knowledge and experience, and I find it very comforting to have somebody there with us from the beginning to the end, to be able to answer our questions," says Debra...
...fast pace of "Kong" reminds me of other films from the '30s that have the same breakneck speed, most particularly the work of W. S. Van Dyke in "Tarzan and His Mate," "Trader Horn" and my favorite, "San Francisco." Certainly influenced by Cooper-Schoedsack (some of their jungle footage turns up in both "Horn" and "Tarzan"), Van Dyke sets up the plot and gets us involved in the characters with an economy that is unimaginable today...
