Despite the abolition of the popular select three-year course in its scientific school, Yale has a larger enrolment than it had in 1916. The university is undergoing a thorough reorganization, which includes departmentalization of the faculty and some changes in admission requirements. For the first time in Yale history, boys may now be admitted without Latin. Such students will receive the degree of Bachelor of Philosophy, which was formerly conferred on those graduating from the Sheffield Scientific School. On its part "Sheff" will now offer only the degree of Bachelor of Science...

Claflin, Jr., '15, who, it is expected, will be head coach of the University hockey team this year, although his appointment has not yet been confirmed by the Athletic Committee. Claflin was captain of the 1915 University seven which twice defeated Yale, thus taking the series for that year. He played on the University team at cover-point for three years, and also filled that position on his Freshman team...

Although the sanction of the Yale athletic council has not been given, the trip is known to be favored by many members of the faculty. The decision to make the trip was caused by the absence at New Haven of a rink where skating is possible the entire winter. No call has yet been issued at New Haven for the hockey squad, but captain Ingalls will call the squad together within the next few days. Nine of last year's squad have returned to Yale this season...
