Because of the inadequacy of the cage the practice was extremely light. Much discussion has taken place in the press concerning whether Phillips, substitute center for Palmer, called the signals during the second half of the Princeton game. The Yale Athletic Association stated last night that Phillips acted in this capacity, after McLennan was substituted for Bob Hall. As McLennan is the third substitute quarterback, and had not been calling signals during the season, Phillips was asked to direct the plays and give the numbers when the ball was to be snapped
