...need to crack down on "deadbeat dads." That blithely misses the point. As revolutionary patriot, jurist and marriage counselor James Wilson said, "When divorces can be summoned to the aid of levity, of vanity or of avarice, a state of marriage becomes frequently a state of war or stratagem; still more frequently, a state of premeditated and active preparation for successful stratagems...

Sack's "free speech" was not abrogated (as if "free speech" is even the issue). The stratagem employed here, to mislead thoroughly by artfully suggesting something that is never said and then by upping the ante, in this case by mentioning, "free speech," is standard fare for Sack. It is but one technique in his arsenal of such techniques (which I exposed systematically in my review), and which indicates the general character of his book and of the charges that he has made against me. All of Sack's other claims and "facts" should be read with this example...

...spokesman for DeLay: "Speaker Newt Gingrich is not going to go down, and we're not gearing up for anything." Congressional insiders, however, see House majority leader Dick Armey, also of Texas, as the more likely replacement for Gingrich as Speaker, should he fall. So savvy observers see a stratagem within a stratagem: the DeLay gambit is an opening shot in what could be a battle for Armey's office in a post-Gingrich world--a contest that will probably pit DeLay against the hardworking John Boehner of Ohio, the fourth-ranking Republican...
