We would go a little farther, and condemn that of marking even one's own, for this reason: book-marking is like dram-drinking and only total abstinence can safely guard us against excess. Anybody who has seen a young lady's copy of Tennyson, and searched in vain for an unmarked page, will recognize the evils of indulgence.
