Ninety-eight has lost two of her last year's backs, as Manning has not returned to college and Scull is not coming out. Besides these, J. L. Valentine, who has played at quarter the last two years, will not join the squad this season. There seems to be some promising new material, however, as both Adams and Riggs, substitute tackles on last year's eleven, are showing up promisingly back of the line; and a strong though somewhat inexperienced rusher has been found in Grilk, who is playing with the squad this year for the first time...

Daly's squad played the second half, and, although handicapped by darkness, they put up almost as fine a game as the other squad. The line held well and tackled hard, and the quarter-back, C. D. Daly, kicked splendidly. Several times he returned the ball for a good gain when the other team was almost on top of him. The second 'Varsity scored once in this half. From seventy-five to one hundred men are training daily for these games. Some of the old men are out, but the majority are Freshmen. Among the former are Bigelow, Dunstan, Green, Boyden and Shore in the sprints; Fox, Morse and Rorer in the hurdles; Fish in the quarter; J. G.
