Usage:

Since the letters in question were sent to faculty members, how could it be said that there was any design to mislead them as to the views of other faculty members? Would the letter of one student to another he interpreted as an attempt to express the views of all students? Certainly not, because the recipient would be well aware that the sender was not authorized to speak for all students.
