Horween broke through the Valparaiso line, but fell and Dandalet was on him before he could get up. After another play failed, Humphrey punted across the goal line after Gilbert had punted. A Valparaiso penalty and a buck by Owen brought the pigskin to the 30-yard line, where Gilbert intercepted a forward pass and put his team out of danger...
