...best thing in the current issue of the Lampoon is the centre-page reproduction of a well-known weekly. There are a good many things in the rest of the number that should produce laughter in the average undergraduate, and pictorially it is pleasing. Of local hits-the natural province of the Lampoo, wherein it is mose successful,- there are several good ones,- "A Fast Life," is true to life or at least three mornings in the week. The "Foibles" of the Advocate are also well done...
Judging from the dress rehearsal last night, the Pudding play this year should be a great success. It is more of a burlesque than last year and contains more local hits. All the parts are well taken, Schurz, Woodruff, Stone and Rust being especially egective. Perhaps the best thing is the specialty by Schurz and Woodruff, a take-off on "Secret Service." Fenno and Scaife are rather graceful in their dance, and Rust sings a soldier song with very telling gestures...
...dialogne throughout is ciever and amusing and seldom too long drawn out. The chorus sang with spirit but were a trifle woodeny in action. The scenery and costumes, designed by Pitts, were first-rate, especially the houses in Harvard Square. In the second act, many local celebrities are introduced including Poco, Foster, a policeman and four of the Faculty, who are cleverly taken off by Schurz, Stone, Nichols and Parker. Ordinary and extraordinary occurrences, such as a band procession, taking out of an Institute ten, waiting for an electric car, and a spirited struggle between John and his donkey...
...present the daily work consists of distance riding on the Charles River track. This will be kept up a week longer to develop endurance, when sprinting will be taken up. In addition to the track work the squad will be given plenty of racing practice in weekly meetings on local tracks...
...dialogue is more replete with local hits than formerly and the play tends to return to the truer type of college theatricals...
