...announcement of the assignment of college rooms for '89-'90 revives the long standing complaint against giving sub-freshmen an equal chance with upper class men in drawing. There seems to us to be nothing unfair in this and the decision of last evening by which Harvard will probably offer as her date May 22, should settle the whole matter definitely. This arrangement will give both teams an equal advantage, far Harhas no 'Varsity game on the 22nd of May and Yale has. We cannot see any reason why in all fairness Yale should not accept this arrangement. Harvard will be undoubtedly justified in insisting on the acceptance of May 22, or any other date she may wish if Yale holds to June 1 as her choice...

This is the old question again that has been decided practically in the same way this year as last. In the opinion of our boating men there is not room enough on the New London course for three boats to race with equal advantages. Harvard would be willing to meet the Yale freshman crew, but this year our freshmen must beat Columbia, has beaten us in the last two years and this year we can not take any chance that will be to our disadvantage...
