The obvious purpose would seem to be that the students should be brought back promptly after the recesses; but if this is the only thing which will be accomplished the regulation will certainly arouse much dissatisfaction. The vacations are all very short, the one at Christmas being so short that it hardly means a vacation to those whose homes are in the South and West, But at present it is no very difficult matter for a student so to arrange...
