...Freshman eight has shown a marked development with this week's work. The first crew has been able to keep a fairly consistent order with the result that the boat is moving along better, and the early crudeness is being dropped. Newton at stroke and Strong at 6 seem to have been changes for the better. In the rest of the squad, with the possible exception of the second Freshman, there have been such repeated changes that the men are as yet more or less of an unknown quantity...

...University track team, already weakened by the loss of good material by graduation and probation, is now struggling along with but little support owing to the miserable facilities of our antiquated Gymnasium. It is all very well to revile the undergraduates for not going out early for the team, but anyone who has examined the place where they have to dress for practice cannot blame them very much for their apparent indifference. The locker rooms are dark, unsanitary and improperly ventilated; the lockers themselves are minute and crowded together without regard to the comfort or health of their users...

...Speakers' Club has never been intended as a rival of the Dramatic Club, as you seem to suggest, but was formed by men interested in various forms of platform speaking and oral expression. Some of the members are interested in debating, others along the lines of the Boylston Competition, others in dramatic interpretation with reference to good elocution and vocalization, while there are still others who simply want practice in expressing their thoughts before an audience with clearness and conciseness. The arrangements committee in outlining the work of the club has been forced to keep these various interests in mind...
